About
Hi, it’s Jannet.
K.R. Hitomi is one of my creative identities—a name that opened a door into the world of art and making.
Born and raised in China, I always longed for the freedom to think, feel, and create. After studying Plant Sciences and Biotechnology, I found my way back to making. Today, I work across different materials—not to master them all, but because each one offers a different way to express the same feeling.
Whether I’m painting, working with stained glass, or experimenting with clay, I’m always asking the same question:
How can a piece invite someone to slow down and truly look?
Seeing begins with noticing
“Hitomi – 瞳” means “pupil” or “eye” in Japanese, as well in Chinese.
To me, it is a reminder that seeing begins with noticing.
Looking a little longer.
Staying curious.
Allowing different stories to emerge from the same piece.
One feeling. Many materials.
Every material speaks differently.
Glass changes with light.
Clay changes through fire.
Paint reveals itself through layers.
Rather than searching for the perfect medium, I enjoy discovering how the same idea can take different forms.
Still exploring...
I don’t believe creativity has a final destination.
Every project teaches me a new way of seeing, and every material reveals something I hadn’t noticed before.
Thank you for slowing down and being part of the journey 🙂
